A motorcyclist was killed in a crash early Tuesday night in Indian River County.

The fatal crash took place shortly after 7 p.m. when a motorcycle struck a flatbed tow struck at the intersection of U.S. Hwy. 1 and 99th Street, according to the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office’s Facebook page.

The incident forced the closure of U.S. Hwy. 1 in both directions between Barber Street and Schumann Drive, south of Sebastian. Florida Highway Patrol troopers responded to investigate the crash, the report says.
